NCNMEDD_NCNMEDD VISTA Leader
 
 
 
The NCNMEDD VISTA project seeks to build capacity in economically distressed rural communities to alleviate poverty & provide a better quality of life. VISTAs in this project will gather information about local economic needs, will recommend community development activities, and identify potential resources for those communities. The VISTA Leader will play a critical role in the project through member recruitment, development, and performance tracking. There is an emphasis to ensure sustainable project growth, clear stakeholder communication & overall program effectiveness. The VISTA leader will work to enhance VISTA Members’ project-related knowledge and skill sets, build personal economic development acumen, track and boost the effectiveness of the VISTA program throughout the region, further the success of the program through support of sponsor, sub-site, and regional partners, and recruit a high-quality VISTA team for the full region.

Member Duties : The VISTA Leader will work to develop VISTA member orientation materials; develop training opportunities; conduct monthly VISTA member calls and educational webinars; and conduct one-on-one calls with VISTA members as needed. The VISTA Leader will be provided opportunities to enhance knowledge of economic development, resiliency, and other project related principles. The VISTA leader will monitor VISTA member progress through data collection and outcome measurement. The VISTA leader will attend teleconferences with VISTA sub-site supervisors, serve as an interface between NCNMEDD and partners throughout the region, and participate in conferences, trainings, and meetings related to regional economic development topics and organizations as available. The VISTA Leader will create recruitment materials, work with sub-sites to develop strategic recruitment avenues and partners, and assist in the selection of a qualified VISTA member applicant pool.
