OT3A Financial Literacy

FINM Solutions' mission is to provide financial literacy training and technical assistance to minority- and women-owned enterprises and nonprofit organizations to promote regional economic growth. The long-term project focuses on business and financial management in other-than traditional-trade apprenticeships (OT3A) career development. The initial project will serve as a platform to develop and offer additional career development programs that are innovative and responsive to changes in labor market demand targeted to low-income communities. The second phase of the project is dedicated to job placement and workforce development via work-based learning and/or employer engagement. The program objective is to increase the number of minority women enrolled in high-demand career development programs by reducing the barriers to entry and completion of educational training. The program will provide wrap-around services such as child care, transportation, technology or access to wi-fi, to overcome barriers of program completion. The program will offer education that combines On the Job Training (OJT) with point-of-need Learning and Development (L&D). Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to demonstrate real-world skills sought by employers and become eligible for career placement opportunities available during the second phase of the OT3A financial literacy project. The OT3A project also satisfies the need for more available non-traditional career development programs to create a pipeline of employees to fill the growing gap between available jobs and skilled workers.
