PAARI Recovery Corps- Plymouth County Outreach VISTA

The Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative (PAARI) was founded alongside the Gloucester Police Department Angel Initiative in June 2015 and has grown into a movement of approximately 700 law enforcement partners in 34 states, all implementing a non arrest pathway to treatment and access. Members of our National Recovery Corps will strengthen the ability to partner with law enforcement agencies to increase access to care and address addiction and poverty through non-arrest approaches. PCO is a collaboration of the 27 municipal police departments in Plymouth County, as well as Bridgewater State University Police Department, working with Recovery Coaches, community organizations, and coalitions to make treatment, resources, and harm reduction tools more accessible to those living with substance use disorder and their loved ones. PCO aims to provide compassionate, judgment-free support while reducing overdose fatalities. PCO tracks overdose data and uses it to identify gaps in service. The VISTA will develop and implement a communications strategy through social media and the organization’s website to expand its reach and foster new relationships with partners and the public safety/recovery communities. This VISTA will create templates and content for social media that fosters community building and supports development and sustainability. This VISTA will foster connections with individuals, organizations, and pre-existing partners on social media to enhance capacity and expand reach. This VISTA will also increase social media following/engagement by analyzing engagement data to determine areas of opportunity and create newsletters for the collaborated departments. Individuals with lived experience with addictions, including those who are personally in recovery, are encouraged to apply. This position will allow for a hybrid flexible schedule.
