Million Girls Moonshot STEM VISTA

The Maryland Out of School Time Network is part of a national initiative called Million Girls Moonshot that is designed to engage more young women in STEM learning opportunities to address the underrepresentation of women in STEM careers. MOST has been a STEM afterschool system builder since 2004 providing a variety of training and capacity-building opportunities to afterschool and summer programs to increase the quality and variety of STEM programs offered in the out-of-school hours. The next phase of our Million Girls Moonshot project will be focused on creating and promoting “micro-mentoring” opportunities to connect girls to STEM role models. MOST will be also be relaunching and creating new content for the www.mdmoonshot.org web platform designed to connect young people across Maryland to STEM learning opportunities in their communities. The MGM MOST STEM VISTA will also support MOST’s role in the Baltimore STEM Ecosystem, and provide additional technical support and resources to other STEM-related VISTA projects.
