Community Sponsorship Program VISTA

Expand the refugee resettlement community sponsorship program to match co-sponsor groups and welcome teams with arriving refugee newcomers. Manage and expand development of a sustainable and scalable community sponsorship program to enhance refugee integration, contributing to poverty alleviation and building the capacity of the refugee resettlement program. With this additional capacity, the agency can welcome more refugees by training and managing community sponsorship groups to complement services offered by the agency. To achieve this goal, the VISTA will conduct outreach to faith and community groups, train and manage volunteers, and coordinate with resettlement program staff to match refugee newcomers with community co-sponsorship groups and welcome teams. This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty.
