Who is this course for? This course is designed for anyone who enjoys working with data and seeks an opportunity to help community health centers serve patients with greater ease and efficiency. Students of any background can sign up—those new to health care, current industry professionals looking to specialize, or existing data specialists committed to advancing health equity. Member Duties : This entrée course into OCHIN's Public Health AmeriCorps program helps interested applicants create promising career paths and more resilient communities. Data and Clinical Quality role will help relieve burdens on frontline clinicians and staff in clinical quality efforts to support chronic condition management. AmeriCorps members will begin applying their knowledge of database management to analyze clinical data, identify and report trends. They can learn the elements of generating data queries, based on validation checks or errors and omissions identified during data entry, to resolve identified problems. At some sites, AmeriCorps members can learn "medical abstraction"--manual review of records to prepare for a data migration from one system to another. Skills introduced: OCHIN EPIC, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Structured Query Language, Excel, and Tableau.
