2022-23 Community Voice VISTA Achieve Brown County Green Bay

Achieve Brown County (ABC) operates under a simple premise: those who care about our community’s young people - from parents and educators to civic, nonprofit, and business leaders - can accomplish more by working together than by working independently. ABC works to ensure that every child succeeds from cradle to career, regardless of race, income, or zip code. As a backbone organization for community-led collective impact, ABC convenes, facilitates, and supports the efforts of dozens of businesses, nonprofits, schools, government agencies, and individual community members to create a truly equitable Brown County in which ALL young people have what they need to succeed in school, work, and life. Our Community Voice VISTA will develop a comprehensive approach for ABC to engage youth and families in sharing their voice to inform the work of various committees at ABC. There will be an emphasis on equity and a commitment to engaging the BIPOC and other underrepresented community members in this work. You will engage in both research as well as the design and launch of community voice work for ABC. Individuals interested in this role should have interest in nonprofit or collective impact work, be self-motivated, able to problem solve and work independently, be comfortable with public speaking and able to form strong relationships with community members from various backgrounds. To learn more about ABC, please visit our website at www.achievebrowncounty.org. You may also contact us with any questions as you explore this role. Please note, our office is in Green Bay, WI. This VISTA is part of a team of six VISTAs, four permanent employees and two contractors at ABC. We have a hybrid work environment, spending a mix of time working in our office and from home or out in the community. It will be helpful for the VISTA to live in Brown County and have access to transportation.
