Wake Forest University Public Health Corps
 
 
 
The Office of Civic & Community Engagement at Wake Forest University will host 15 AmeriCorps members who will conduct health outreach & education, provide patient navigation of services, and build capacity at community health clinics in Forsyth County, North Carolina. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for improving health knowledge and access to medical care for low-income individuals and families. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will recruit and manage volunteers who will be engaged in providing medical services and health education. AmeriCorps members will serve part-time for 900 hours per year. They will participate in training, workshops, and public health talks with community leaders.

Member Duties : Members will provide patient navigation services, health education, volunteer recruitment and management, database management, outreach and communication, patient intake and follow-up, and translation services.
