Living Arts and Science Center- The Plantory
 
 
 
Since 2015, the Plantory has placed 80 AmeriCorps VISTA members with agencies around Lexington, KY. Those members committed a year of full-time service to support the growth and development of their host agency. They worked together to improve food access, housing, education, and economic development opportunities on a micro and macro level in Lexington. Our VISTA members and their sites have accomplished so much! In the coming year, we will be placing 20 AmeriCorps VISTA members. Ultimately, we hope that this project will result in robust interagency relationships and foster cross-sector collaboration so that we have a stronger, more unified and multifaceted approach to fighting poverty.

Member Duties : The Community Engagement and Education VISTA member will build capacity of the Living Arts and Science Center by developing and implementing an opportunity and access plan for low income and under served students and families. The VISTA member will improve volunteer recruitment, training, engagement and retention.
