Beyond Housing Workforce Training Pipeline Coordinator

Beyond Housing is a nonprofit comprehensive community building organization that helps entire communities become better places to live by strengthening individuals and families, transforming the physical environment, and creating change at the systems level. Propel Kitchens was formed by Beyond Housing to address unemployment/underemployment and food insecurity in the St. Louis Promise Zone. Propel Kitchens ensures that graduates receive a full-time, living wage or better job with a local culinary company. As the Workforce Training Pipeline Coordinator, you will help Propel Kitchens identify community residents interested in a career in culinary arts and research the obstacles they face in accessing the training needed to take the next step in their career. You will also work to identify community partners who can assist potential participants in overcoming these obstacles. For the next step of the project, you will design and implement a plan to attract and recruit the identified trainees into the “earn & learn” employment and training program at Propel Kitchens. Implementation will be completed in one year and work will be performed in the offices of Beyond housing as well as at Propel Kitchens and in the field within the St. Louis Promise Zone. As the Workforce Training Pipeline Coordinator, you will help implement a cutting-edge workforce development program at a nationally recognized organization, which provides valuable, meaningful interventions that strengthen individuals, families and communities.
