Volunteer Program Manager VISTA – Famicos Foundation
 
 
 
As an AmeriCorps VISTA with Famicos Foundation, you will be a part of an agency wide initiative to connect our residents with digital resources. This includes basic computer training, devices, and internet. Famicos Foundation has 900+ residents living in affordable housing. The volunteer program will serve to build capacity, through volunteers, which will assist residents with gaining skills and resources so that they may participate in our digital society. ‘Digital Equity’ is a condition in which all individuals and communities have the information technology capacity needed for full participation in our society, democracy, and economy The impact of the digital divide among affordable housing residents during COVID-19 is profound. Seniors, who are more likely to face barriers to digital access, experience the mental and physical impact of social isolation. As telemedicine has become a prevalent model for people to manage their health needs, seniors who lack digital access and literacy are left behind. Famicos Foundation is committed to prioritizing digital inclusion in the communities we serve. Therefore, we’re looking for a talented AmeriCorps VISTA to dedicate one year to building digital equity and inclusion in the communities we serve.

Member Duties : During the year of service, the volunteer manager VISTA will work with our team to develop and implement a volunteer program that will serve to provide volunteers for the newly formed Digital Equity Resource Center (DERC). The VISTA will grow our volunteer program that engages community and corporate volunteers in both in-person and/or remote projects. The VISTA will recruit, interview, train, schedule, and assist in managing volunteers.
