Public Health AmeriCorps
 
 
 
the Public Health AmeriCorps member will benefit from gaining onsite experience and training for public health-related careers while completing the school-required social work internship. Public Health AmeriCorps will serve clients from a holistic perspective, specifically focusing on physical health resources, individual and group therapy, and connection to benefits. Public Health AmeriCorps members will use the Whole Health Model as a strategic framework to address all aspects of client health. As a result, Public Health AmeriCorps will help play a critical role in helping families and individuals move toward increased empowerment and health. The Public Health AmeriCorps Member will serve in person to meet the health needs and advance more equitable health outcomes for over 400 adults and children served by the Mental Health team. In addition, they will support uninsured and insured individuals with barriers to health access, completing health screenings and referrals, mental health support, and benefits assistance, and work to increase the scores on the Arizona Self-Sufficiency Matrix for over 1,600 adults.

Member Duties : Assess client’s health needs and identify needs provide case management support to help clients access health resources Participate in whole group social & emotional learning activities Graduate students will host one-on-one and group therapy sessions with adults or children Utilize the Whole Health model while serving both individual clients and families Utilize the Arizona Self-Sufficiency Matrix to access improvements in health outcomes Meet with clients weekly at a minimum & more as needed by individuals Use the client database to accurately record notes on clients’ health and other related data Support existing recovery and mental health resources provided at Our House Support clients participating in the Our House Wellness Clinic and other medication management agencies to continue service long term Follow all procedures in the Our House Safety Policy Participate in AmeriCorps Days of Service & additional service projects as approved by the program director
