*MTCC AmeriCorps College Coach - Flathead Valley Com College

Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC) was established in 1967 as a result of collaborative efforts by local citizens supporting area students and employers by providing higher education without leaving the valley. Flathead Valley Community College promotes excellence in lifelong learning, focused on student success and community needs. FVCC is a welcoming campus community where diversity and inclusion are important to staff, students, faculty, and the campus community. The college will continue to work hard to foster an environment of civil discourse, free speech, tolerance, and understanding. Community colleges are an indispensable asset to ensure and preserve access to higher education and success for all students, particularly historically underrepresented or underprivileged student populations. At FVCC, we are committed to helping underrepresented students overcome barriers they are facing. Tucked into the northwest corner of Montana, the Flathead Valley lies between Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. Kalispell is the largest town in the valley and the home of Flathead Valley Community College’s main Kalispell campus. Known as a mecca for the outdoors, Kalispell and its surrounding communities of Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Bigfork, Lakeside, and Somers boast a vibrant community of active, passionate citizens. FVCC also includes the Lincoln County Campus, serving all of Lincoln County and located in Libby. FVCC's HEART Program is a nonprofit organization that encourages growth and graduation by helping meet the basic needs of Kalispell and Evergreen students struggling with homelessness. The HEART Program consists of four parts: The HEART Locker, The Locker Learning Center, The HEART Markets, and The HEART Fund.
