Arizona Project WET Water Educator UACE Pinal County
 
 
 
Arizona Project WET (APW) develops water stewardship and STEM literacy by providing teacher professional development that evolves instructional practice and deepens content knowledge, direct student outreach that delivers or extends classroom learning, and community engagement. The member will work with APW Pinal County coordinator to ensure delivery of quality programs to all our constituents.

Member Duties : The Water Educator helps promote STEM literacy in our schools through water education opportunities. Assist in Pinal/Gila County water festivals in: Florence; Coolidge; Apache Junction; Casa Grande; Maricopa; & Globe. Recruit & coordinate volunteers to help facilitate for Pinal/Gila County water festivals. Present scripted water-related lessons at Water Festivals in an engaging, inquiry-based manner. Engage fourth- twelfth grade student discovery by facilitating hands-on, minds-on lessons. Schedule, transport, set up, and take down equipment for facilitated STEM learning experiences. Communicate appropriately with classroom teachers, other adults, and students. Provide interactive engaging STEM activities and information at public events. Incorporate local relevance into teaching and facilitating (e.g. Colorado River watershed, water quality, and water conservation). Enter student assessment data into Excel.
