2022 - 2023 Eviction Prevention Service Coordinator

Northern Illinois ReACH provides affordable housing to Boone, Stephenson and Winnebago Counties. NIReACH believes that most issues resulting in eviction can be prevented or resolved through the power of information and community resources. Through partnerships with social services agencies, individual donors, and corporate businesses vulnerable residents will be able to remain in housing. The Eviction Prevention Service Coordinator VISTA will create and lead projects with 20 nonprofit partners to support the housing retention program, help create much-needed workshops, and facilitate rebuilding relationships between vulnerable residents and building managers. The ideal candidate will possess: A willingness and eagerness to learn, a high degree of self-motivation and be a self-starter, excellent interpersonal skills, good computer skills with Microsoft and Windows based programs, experience working and collaborating with diverse populations, good oral and written communication skills, and be detailed-oriented with asset-based thinking. NiReACH handles critical and sensitive data daily, so trustworthiness is also key. Some housing issues may require creative thinking to come up with viable solutions, so we are seeking someone able to think outside-the-box. This Eviction Prevention Service Coordinator will be hosted by Northern Illinois ReACH, located in Rockford, IL. NIReACH is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010.
