Great River Children's Museum Outreach VISTA (MAVA)

Great River Children’s Museum’s (GRCM) mission is to shine a bright light on the power of play to spark children’s learning, strengthen families, and build community connections. Its dynamic, interactive environments and experiences are a gateway to the world and its people for children and families of ALL backgrounds. These are the guiding principles of all past, current and future GRCM activity. Great River Children’s Museum is a Minnesota 501(c)3 nonprofit organization registered on February 23, 2012. The GRCM Fund Development VISTA will: help grow the museum’s organizational capacity by supporting the museum in its current capital campaign. The VISTA will more importantly help every new relationship be fostered and strengthened over time. The GRCM Community Outreach VISTA will: help grow the museum’s organizational capacity in recruiting, training, and maintaining volunteers throughout the museum service area. They would also help build organizational capacity in planning and implementing outreach programming to those same service areas. An emphasis on developing community partnership and buy-in from rural and other marginalized communities will be at the center of this service program. This is an opportunity to help build something new from the ground up. In exchange for your service, you will receive approximately $1,755/month, choice of a $6,495 education award or $1,800 end of service stipend.
