Marketing and Outreach Coordinator VISTA at MakeIT Haverhill
 
 
 
MakelT Haverhill (MIH), a project of Community Action, Inc., is a single-story 2000 square foot community space located at 301 Washington Street, Haverhill, MA 01832. Opened in late June 2019 by Keith Boucher and John Cuneo, we focus on workforce development; specifically employment, education and economic stability in the city of Haverhill. Job seekers, regardless of socio-econmic status or identity, can use our space to network, learn, and ultimately generate employment opportunities. We are a proud grassroots organization that is completely VOLUNTEER led! Matching community opportunity with community need. Whether it's training or jobs, we lift up residents and the businesses that will employ them! Along the way, we empower residents with the skills they need to get a job or further their career. MakeIT Haverhill meets clients wherever they are in their life journey. Many of our clients need guidance, direction, or training that they cannot get from their peers, family or friends or even agencies. In addition to our English classes, computer training and employment programs, MakeIT Haverhill offers connections for personalized support for clients who need career or personal development assistance.

Member Duties : The VISTA Member will support and embrace the MIH mission focused on "meeting people wherever they are in their life journey", along with the Mt Washington LatinX / Haitian Creole immigrant neighborhood landscape and its residents. Additionally, learn how we collaborate with other agencies and businesses and how we recruit and serve our clients and volunteers. Using this knowledge, the VISTA Member will build capacity by reaching out and engaging with the community by being present at various meetings and events, while bringing fun activities to the MIH facility itself and promoting MIH programs via social media, our web site and other marketing platforms. We will look to our VISTA Member to provide guidance on how we can bring "joy and fun" to everything we do, while bringing their unique outgoing extroverted personality and innovative ideas!
