Lawrence Community Shelter Communications Coordinator

Grounded in human rights and social justice, our mission at the Lawrence Community Shelter (LCS) is to advance compassionate solutions for people facing homelessness through advocacy, shelter, and housing. The VISTA member will build the capacity of the organization by supporting the community engagement team and evaluating current communication strategies for engagement with donors, volunteers, and community partners. Successful VISTA members will be organized, effective communicators that are able to work both independently and collaboratively. From this experience, members will gain experience in social justice advocacy, the development of marketing materials, networking with a variety of community stakeholders, and knowledge of how poverty impacts communities.
