In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. The Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network (ORPRN) was established in 2002 at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. ORPRN is dedicated to improving the health of rural Oregonians through community-engaged dialogue, coaching, education, and research. ORPRN facilitates a broad variety of clinical health care research, quality improvement projects, and practice transformation efforts in Oregon. We work with the Oregon Health Authority, Coordinated Care Organizations, and clinics to improve health equity by improving access and quality of care for economically disadvantaged populations. We seek someone who is motivated, detail oriented, and curious and prefer experience in Excel and PowerPoint. This role is a good fit for someone interested in research, service to economically disadvantaged populations, public health, and public policy. Portland is a vibrant metropolitan city. The Pacific Ocean, Mt. Hood and acres of national forest are within 1-2 hours’ drive, while within city limits lush parks abound. Portland has excellent public transportation and is recognized nationally as a bike friendly city. The OHA AmeriCorps VISTA Partnership Project is committed to building a diverse workforce to strengthen our work in Oregon communities. We value applicants who can bring lived experience to further OHA’s strategic goal to eliminate health inequities by 2030.
