Be A Mentor VISTA Marketing Associate

Members work to help alleviate poverty through increasing youths’ access to caring adult mentors. This will be accomplished by building and tracking social media outreach, building relationships with local and national media outlets to increase outreach and mentor recruitment, and to guide and support volunteers in the creation of mentor recruitment and support materials. The job requires some college experience, preferably with some writing, editing and/or marketing experience. Applicants should have writing, editing, graphics skills, and preferably some video editing skills. Be a Mentor, Inc. seeks to help children and youth from challenging and vulnerable circumstances develop the assets necessary to make healthy life choices, set realistic goals, act with determination and ultimately build vibrant successful lives for themselves through direct contact and relationships with caring and positive adult role models. Leveraging its 29 years of expertise as a nationally recognized leader providing standalone mentoring services, Be A Mentor (BAM) now partners with existing youth-serving agencies to provide mentors to the youth served by our partners. Since its founding in 1992, BAM has recruited, screened, trained, and matched mentors with thousands of high-need youth. Through its Volunteer Management System (VMS) – a comprehensive, cloud-based application designed to support the entire volunteer lifecycle – BAM leverages its cutting-edge, technology-driven programs and its evidence-based practices to scale mentoring at partnering youth services agencies, who may already be serving thousands of high-need youth. This disruption in the traditional mentoring model provides mentors to the maximum number of mentees that is cost-effective and assures that common functions are not duplicated at partnering agencies.
