Catholic Charities Community Services, Archdiocese of New York (CCCS) seeks to uphold the dignity of each person by serving the basic needs of the poor, troubled, frail, and oppressed of all religions. We collaborate with parishes and Catholic and non-Catholic partners to build a compassionate and just society. Through a network of administered, sponsored, and affiliated agencies, Catholic Charities delivers, coordinates, and advocates for quality human services and programs that assist with almost every human need. This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA Member will implement effective volunteer management strategies for recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention, and will provide support and guidance to volunteers. The VISTA will conduct outreach to members of the community, partners, faith-based organizations, and civic groups to promote the work of CCCS and volunteer opportunities. Furthermore, the VISTA will build capacity by undertaking new initiatives to support newly arrived families, such as partnerships to provide need-based donations. The VISTA will develop materials and tools to ensure sustainable impact. The VISTA will also attend events on behalf of the CCCS and will contribute to planning special events.
