Faith-Based Liaison - GOFBCI
 
 
 
The Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (GOFBCI) is designated within the Office of the Governor and serves as a liaison to the faith-based and nonprofit community with a focus on building public-private partnerships and leveraging those relationships to create a network of compassion throughout Ohio. Overseen by Director Michele Reynolds, GOFBCI serves as a clearinghouse of information on federal, state and local funding for charitable services performed by organizations; encourages organizations to seek public funding for their charitable services, assists local, state and federal agencies in coordinating their activities to secure maximum use of funds and efforts that benefit people receiving charitable services from organizations; and advises the governor, general assembly and the advisory board of the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives on the barriers that exist to collaboration between organizations and governmental entities and on way to remove those barriers.

Member Duties : Working with the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (GOFBCI), the VISTA Member will assist as a liaison to the Faith-Based and nonprofit community in a variety of activities including planning and implementation, capacity building, outreach, technical assistance and more! The VISTA Member will be focused on the following activities: Develop community outreach activities through leveraging resources and building strategic partnerships. Provide programmatic support to GOFBCI through its primary partners, assisting with capacity-building, technical assistance, and other training services. Engage with the Faith-Based Project Work Team in using multiple channels to communicate GOFBCI activities, meetings, and events.
