Suicide and Underserved Populations Research Specialist

The Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation (OSPF) is dedicated to being Ohio’s voice for suicide prevention. Suicide touches the lives of many Ohioans and OSPF is leading the way by providing communities with training, resources, and the capacity to reduce suicide rates across the state. As a part of our efforts, OSPF wants to research suicide prevention for underserved and underrepresented populations. Our VISTA would work very closely with OSPF staff and the Suicide Prevention Plan for Ohio Implementation Team to look closely at suicide trends for underserved and underrepresented communities in Ohio. VISTA members will also expand into suicide prevention research and resource development for lethal means safety and Ohio’s underserved/underrepresented populations. Examples include but are not limited to the following communities: refugees, Latinx, African-Americans, and those living under the poverty line.
