Harm Reduction and Community Engagement Specialist

The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County is responsible for the planning, funding and monitoring of public mental health and substance use disorder treatment and recovery support services delivered to the residents of Cuyahoga County. The ADAMHS Board is a quasi-independent part of county government, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board contracts with provider agencies to deliver services that assist clients on the road to recovery. The Board also provides training, prevention education, and information about mental health and substance use disorder treatment and recovery support services available in Cuyahoga County; works with other local, state and federal organizations to increase awareness, educate the community and advocate for policies that support mental health and addiction recovery; and, funds the local crisis hotline: 216-623-6888 and crisis chat. The ADAMHS Board VISTA member program is designed to help address mental health and substance use disorders as well as the evolving opioid crisis in Cuyahoga County through community outreach and engagement. Our VISTA member will be able to participate in multiple, no-cost, training opportunities throughout the service year.
