AmeriCorps VISTA Tutoring and Mentoring at Rutgers Univ.
The PreCollege Programs Center (CPP) supports students by providing opportunities to achieve and grow effectively. CPP serves more than 2,000 students and parents annually by facilitating various programs throughout Newark, East Orange, Orange, Irvington, and the greater Essex County area. The Center for PreCollege Programs houses our three TRIO programs of Talent Search (2) and Upward Bound, the Abbott Leadership Institute, Youth Media Symposium, University-Assisted Partnerships, a College Success Center, the Tutoring Spot, and the Rutgers Future Scholars Program, in addition to other special interest programs and collaborations.

Member Duties : In collaboration with the program manager for the Center for PreCollege Programs (CPP), the VISTA will aid in developing recruitment training and schedule management of CPP tutors and mentors for various CPP programs. Core duties will include Public Relations and External Communications, organizing informational meetings and posting opportunities on social media. Two, Internal Communications: organizing program related meeting, taking minutes and coordinating related program curriculum. Three, Program Coordination: developing tutoring and mentoring models with staff, monitoring and scheduling tutors and mentor work schedules and developing and facilitating training workshops for mentors and tutors.
