AmeriCorps VISTA in Community Wellness at Rutgers University
 
 
 
This individual will remain abreast of community events, policies and trends relevant to community benefits and resources. They will also coordinate various workshops and other tactics to educate the RU-N community about available resources. In this role the incumbent will support student’s academic success by providing a holistic strategy to ensure their basic needs are met.

Member Duties : Research, create, update and maintain database and resource guide of on-campus, local, state and federal resources. Understand and connect students to public benefits. Stay abreast of community events, policies, and programs. Coordinate on-site benefit application drives and workshops. Establish online and offline presence for basic needs resources. Connect students to existing safety net resources and services. Coordinate with campus partners as needed. Coordinate and facilitate office/department/unit donation drives. Assist working in the RU-N pantry. Create and implement a community-wide tile on the RU-N app. Support the Career Development Center with the Career Closet program. Launch clothing and maintain inventory of clothing. Collaborate with Health Promotion Division (HPD) on wellness outreach and programming to help build a campus culture of wellbeing based on the 10 dimensions of wellness.
