Engage NJ AmeriCorps VISTA Leader
 
 
 
Engage NJ sponsors the largest higher education VISTA program in New Jersey, called ENGAGECorps. The VISTA Leader will work with Engage NJ leadership to continuously develop, evaluate, assess, and implement program management tools and practices to maintain a successful Americorps program and grow the program significantly. There are four main ENGAGECorps VISTA cohorts that will focus on the following impact areas – #1) build the capacity of high school tutoring and mentoring programs, #2) develop 21st century workplace skills and a statewide student success network, #3) expand the network of campus-based community centers that tackle food and housing insecurity, mental health, provide professional attire, and other student challenges, and #4) build the capacity for environmental stewardship that builds knowledge about climate change, particularly regarding NJ's recent mandate on Climate Change Education Standards for grades k-12, and in all subject matters

Member Duties : Specific duties will include self-identifying professional development needs; developing/improving trainings to support all VISTAs placed at Engage NJ partner and community host sites; evaluate data and assess the performance measures of the ENGAGECorps program; develop and implement a more streamlined communications plan for communications with site supervisors and VISTAs, develop and implement creative virtual teambuilding activities or platforms and contribute to member development activities such as planning workshops and professional trainings; research and support fundraising strategies; help recruit stellar VISTA candidates for the next cohort, and develop a brand new VISTA alumni network for ongoing peer support and development.
