Waterfall Community Health Center is a non-profit, mission-based federally qualified health center in Coos County dedicated to improving the community through an integrated health model which provides primary, mental, and social health care to all. The county population of approximately 63,043 lives in semi-urban, rural and frontier communities, with seven cities and several smaller communities. Over the past 20 years, health status and quality of life have declined due to economic conditions and the increase in barriers health. There are great challenges and therefore great opportunities to make a difference in the lives of the people of Coos County. The area houses the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, featuring 500-foot dunes, and with the ocean just a few miles away, the adjacent bay, and abundant coastal rivers and forests, you can enjoy outdoor activities, a local arts and crafts scene, and the relaxing pace of Oregon coastal life. With the innovative public health work happening in Oregon, North Bend is a wonderful place to explore a future in public health. The OHA AmeriCorps VISTA Partnership Project is committed to building a diverse workforce to strengthen our work in Oregon communities. We value applicants who can bring lived experience to further OHA’s strategic goal to eliminate health inequities by 2030.
