In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. The last day to submit an application is July 31, 2022. JeffCoConnects Community Network, a project of Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH), is a community connector organization based in Madras, OR serving all of Jefferson County, including the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. JCPH works to promote and protect the health of all county residents, with a focus on health equity services. Our county is the most racially and ethnically-diverse county in the Oregon, with approximately 19% Native American, 19% Latinx/Hispanic, and 60% Non-Hispanic white, with a cultural richness that is hard to duplicate anywhere else. Located in the High Desert of Central Oregon, Jefferson County has lots of outdoor recreation opportunities including hiking, camping, and rafting, and an emerging farm to table movement. To be successful in this position, we are seeking someone who is an excellent communicator and comfortable working on their own and in teams. To meet the needs of our communities and partner organizations, the ideal candidate would be fluent in both Spanish and English. Cultural humility is a must in our diverse community. Competence operating in the tech and virtual worlds is essential. Excellent writing skills to support grant-seeking for sustainability. The OHA AmeriCorps VISTA Partnership Project is committed to building a diverse workforce to strengthen our work in Oregon communities. We value applicants who can bring lived experience to further OHA’s strategic goal to eliminate health inequities by 2030.
