2022 LETS GO Workforce Development VISTA

The Remote Workforce Development VISTA will help LETS GO create a structure and system for connecting with recent and past alumni as well as engaging current families in our high school programming. The VISTA will also develop events and communication strategies to engage families of current LETS GO high school students. This may include social media, newsletters, flyers, and events design. Family engagement is a vital component of student success and longevity with an activity or program. By increasing family engagement, the VISTA will be increasing student’s likelihood of long-term STEM success! The VISTA will develop outreach and communication strategies to target different groups of LETS GO alumni with the goal of reengaging with students and families. This may involve data management, developing surveys, email blasts, newsletters, social media posts, and partner outreach. When applicable, the VISTA will help the students and families connect with the appropriate LETS GO programming to meet the student’s goals. LETS GO is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through equitable STEM education and workforce development. The work that the VISTA will do plays a crucial role in our mission and the success of our students. If you want to be on the front lines of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) work in education, apply today!

Member Duties : General duties for the VISTA include: Build off of existing alumni work to more fully understand how to connect with recent and past alumni, work to increase the amount of students and families that LETS GO is in frequent contact with, organize how staff connect with alumni, develop individualized family connection plans and event, work with partners and families to bridge informational gaps, participant recruitment, develop materials to explain and provide connections between services, resources and target audiences, and create structures that will allow for the continued implementation of project outcomes after the VISTA year. The communities we serve are historically marginalized and many times are struggling to get equitable access to opportunities and networks that allow for success. LETS GO works to provide opportunities and networks so all students can participate. We work with students, their families, local staff, and the entire community for that neighborhood.
