'23-'24 Food Drive Coordinator at Nourish Pierce County

For over 45 years, Nourish Pierce County has been dedicated to providing nutritious food to those in need with compassion, dignity, and respect. AS the largest network of food banks in the county, we operate 7 brick and mortar food banks and have 2 award-winning semi-trailers/mobile food banks that serve an additional 16 sites in each corner of the country from Graham to Key Peninsula and from Edgewood to Lakewood. In 2021, 8% of the population of Pierce County visited a Nourish Food Bank at least one time. To cover this vast geographical area and meet the needs of customers no matter where they live or work, hours of operations and days of operation vary. Clients are free to shop at any location once a week. No one in need is ever turned away. Nourish and its programs provide support to the 1 in 7 Washingtonians living in food-insecure environments; meaning they do not know where their next meal will come from. Food insecurity can affect anyone. Most of our customers are the working poor, homeless & unemployed. Our fastest-growing population is seniors. 32% of the customers we serve are children under the age of 18. While our goal is to provide each individual or family with enough food to make 3 meals a day for 3 days, Nourish is so much more. At Nourish we believe that no one should go hungry. That is why we exist. Children and families. The elderly, the working poor and people experiencing homelessness. We provide more healthy, nutritious food to those in need than any other organization in the area. We could not do this work if it were not for the committed volunteers who help us provide these services.
