'23-'24 Community Engagement & Equity Coordinator at UWPC

United Way of Pierce County (UWPC) is committed to placing those most impacted by community conditions at the heart of our work to lift 15,000 households out of poverty and into self-sufficiency by 2028. In this VISTA position, you will be at the center of our community engagement work and our equity work. Using a variety of engagement opportunities, you will be out in the community listening to individuals and families share what is getting in the way of them truly thriving. UWPC is also working to increase awareness about issues related to equity and social justice in our community and across the country. This work starts with UWPC working internally to be an anti-racist organization. UWPC is also working with our community partners, our Board, and the community at large to provide opportunities for learning and gaining insights and awareness of how inequity negatively impacts the people we serve. This project also supports financial empowerment of Pierce County households through our United to Thrive program where trained volunteers and financial professionals help families get connected with benefits and resources along with providing financial empowerment workshops and coaching.
