'22-'23 Food is Medicine Project Coordinator at NNF

We believe that food is the foundation of our health. The lack of agricultural resources, nutritional education, and local farmer connections has left our Lewis County, WA community dependent on external resources for food. Food is Medicine takes a three-pronged approach to impact: 1) Curriculum improvement and participatory leadership space transformation of the Winlock, Toledo, and Cowlitz-Tribal gardens; 2) Connecting local farmers with these gardens, students, and communities to improve agriculture education; and 3) Leveraging the power of family nutrition education through CSA Farm supported Nutrition Learning boxes provided by local farmers and supported by integrated education materials created by local chefs and nutritionists. Our initiative provides a high level of community engagement and connection through an expansive local network, national service and local volunteer opportunities, improved nutrition of families, and food security.
