Chicago HOPES for Kids 2022-2023 Development Coordinator

Chicago HOPES for Kids is seeking a VISTA member who is interested in supporting students experiencing homelessness by creating and expanding programs designed to empower our students and families holistically. The goal of our project is threefold: 1.)To expand the Chicago HOPES for Kids academic and enrichment program to additional shelters in Chicago. 2.) To strengthen and further develop the structure and components of our existing program. 3.)To create a sustainable model for community outreach and diversify our volunteer opportunities. The VISTA Development Coordinator service goal is to build organizational capacity to raise funds and awareness, as well as promote engagement with development throughout the organization. The coordinator will build relationships with grant funders, social service agencies, corporate donors, and individuals to source new funding opportunities and assist with all aspects of nonprofit development such as events, the annual report, and annual fundraising appeal. The coordinator will work cross-functionally with other VISTA members and engage with team members across the organization to source success stories and data for grants, appeals, and social media posts, and support the Development Manager as requested.
