TSC VISTA 2022: Mission Ignite
 
 
 
The Service Collaborative (TSC) VISTA Program mobilizes AmeriCorps VISTA members to function in organizations, government agencies and educational institutions. Members focus on expanding educational opportunities, ensuring economic opportunity for all and creating healthy futures for the residents of low-income communities. Our goals are to strengthen communities across the state and to allow organizations within them to better provide services to impoverished individuals and families. The Service Collaborative VISTA program has partner organizations in New York State and across the country. During their term of service members, will receive support from our VISTA team at The Service Collaborative of WNY. Our support includes monthly trainings, a social network of fellow members and daily support from VISTA Leaders.

Member Duties : Mission Ignite enhances educational opportunities and enriches lives through technology. M:I refurbishes computers and offers them to high-need nonprofits and communities at risk of poverty. M:I provides STEM, out-of-school programming to agencies and schools, providing topics and hands-on projects such as robotics, coding, and design. The Development Coordinator VISTA will work closely with the M:I team to refine its grantmaking process, create a strategically effective volunteer program, and facilitate fundraising campaigns. The VISTA’s efforts will increase the reach and sustainability of M:I, making more economic resources available to communities at risk. It will also increase M:I’s ability to track and report the results of its activities effectively. In particular, the VISTA will use grant writing and volunteer recruitment and management to increase the resources available to bring about digital equity through affordable devices, digital skills training, and digital services.
