'22 Mission Outreach & Development Summer Associate at SVDP

St. Vincent de Paul of Tacoma, Pierce County is a local, non-profit, Catholic lay organization, serving people in need since 1926. You may know us for our thrift store, but our mission is much broader. St. Vincent de Paul provides spiritual, material and financial assistance to those facing immediate crisis, regardless of race, religion or orientation. People do not need to be a member of any religion or faith to receive help. We welcome all who seek our services, without judgment and with deep regard for our shared humanity. This position supports our direct service program (Homeless Prevention & Basic Needs) and our signature fundraising events (Beyond Vintage and Walk to Prevent Homelessness). St Vinnie's Homeless Prevention & Basic Needs program provides immediate financial assistance to those facing a crisis and are in need of basic living items such as rent, utilities, gas, emergency motel vouchers. On average, annually we assist 12,500 persons and provide $680,000 in direct financial assistance. We help families stay in their homes, preventing homelessness.Funds raised from Beyond Vintage and Walk to Prevent Homelessness support the mission and programs of St Vinnies. All donations are 100% tax-deductible and stay in our community, benefiting Pierce County residents.
