The Food Security Initiative Business Developer VISTA supports the creation, expansion and retention of locally owned agricultural enterprises. The staff and physical resources are focused on the promotion of value-added ventures and local food networks.

Member Duties : Research business or economic trends and recommend viable new growth strategies (10%); Explore opportunities to submit grants (5%); Create strategic alliances among similar but non-competing businesses (10%); Among others Organize community outreach initiatives, such as farm markets (20%) Train, coach or mentor farmers (50%); Become a FB food security subject matter expert and write regular blogs for the FB website or post news to social media platforms (5%).
