2022 Making Tracks Academic Enrichment Program/Summer Fun
The Summer Fun Center Program is a free camp for under-privileged and under-served elementary age children, ages 6 - 12. The program will be offered at the Long Branch Community Recreation Center located at 8700 Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring, Maryland. The camp operates Monday through Friday during the months of July and August. Adventist Community Services partners with local government and other non-profits to offer this opportunity. ACSGW has been engaged in Youth Development programming since 2014. 2022 will be the 6th year we have offered our summer program. Our goal is to provide enhanced academic, nutrition, and health care options that will assist in breaking the cycle of poverty. The summer camp allows us to make great strides in reducing disparities and achieving socio-economic equities. Students today face mental, emotional, and physical, stressors that affect their ability to learn and enjoy childhood.
