2023 Making Tracks Academic Enrichment Program/Summer Fun

The Making Tracks® Academic Enrichment Program has presented instruction in the foundation subjects of language arts and mathematics at local summer camps since 2015. Instructors share strategies that focus on retention of previously learned skills, and building new skills for the coming school year. During the academic enrichment rotation, campers use a Computer Lab to practice skills in the same subjects. Teachers provide classroom instruction and facilitate Computer Lab practice sessions. ACSGW partners with the Montgomery County Recreation Department: Campers attend fun-filled activities arts and crafts, cooking classes, interactive games, Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) classes, and Reading Circles. The Summer Camps also provide safe, reliable, and adequate care for children of working parents. In addition the camps help in combating food insecurity among the families with school-age children. Through the camps, ACSGW makes available affordable life-skill programs that promote the long term growth and development of school-age children. The camps expand access to resources that help make a connection between academic training and career opportunities. ACSGW endeavors to establish seasonal employment opportunities for youth and adults, increasing household incomes.
