ECO AmeriCorps Waste Diversion Program Assistant

ECO AmeriCorps members serve at sites across Vermont implementing strategies to improve water quality and reduce waste. We recognize service in our program is an entryway into the environmental and conservation fields and there are many barriers to service. ECO AmeriCorps is available to people of all races, colors, genders, abilities, identities, socio-economic backgrounds, and interests. We help participants shape a career in environmental conservation, while placing feet on the ground in a fight for Vermont’s environment. Being selected into ECO grants access to many resources and connections that help members go on to further their leadership growth curve. We partner with municipalities, conservation districts, planning commissions, solid waste districts, and nonprofit organizations to monitor water quality, implement projects, provide outreach and education, and plan for a regenerative future. Projects may include green infrastructure, restoring ecosystems, outreach & education, project planning, digital mapping, data collection & surveys and climate resiliency. We seek self-starters who are passionate about the environment. Priority may be given to those with degrees in the natural or agricultural sciences, environmental studies, communications, engineering, or government/policy; or to those with demonstrated skills in project coordination, volunteer management, communications, and/or mapping. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a tenacity for public service and a love of collaboration.
