ECO AmeriCorps

ECO AmeriCorps members serve at organizations across Vermont implementing strategies to improve water quality, restore habitats and build resiliency. We recognize service in our program is an entryway into the environmental and conservation fields and relish that responsibility. Being selected into ECO allows access to many resources and connections that help you further emerge as the environmental leader we need more of. We amplify your passion for creating a change. ECO is available to people of all races, genders, abilities, identities, backgrounds, and interests. We help you shape a career in environmental conservation, while placing feet on the ground in a fight for Vermont’s environment. We partner with municipalities, conservation districts, planning commissions, solid waste districts, and nonprofit organizations to monitor water quality, implement projects, provide outreach and education, and plan a restorative future. Projects may include: green infrastructure, supporting biodiversity, public outreach, project planning, digital mapping, data collection & surveys and curriculum development. We seek self-starters who are passionate about protecting nature. Priority may be given to those with degrees in the natural or agricultural sciences, environmental studies, communications, engineering, or government/policy; or to those with demonstrated skills in project coordination, volunteer management, communications, and/or mapping. We recognize the historic and systemic barriers to service, please visit our website to read more about our ongoing commitment to change.
