CIC - Immunization Outreach & Education Coordinator
 
 
 
The Colorado Immunity Corps (CIC) was formed in 2020 by Immunize Colorado, a statewide 501(c)3 nonprofit which works to protect Colorado families, schools and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases. The Colorado Immunity Corps (CO-mmunity Corps) aims to advance and promote vaccine delivery and education in communities across the state. Ten full-time VISTA members will be placed at local public health agencies, non-profits, and local health centers across diverse communities in Colorado. Vast knowledge of vaccines NOT required. We currently have positions available at in the following locations with a start date in January 2023: Chaffee County Public Health (Salida, Colorado) Garfield County Public Health (Glenwood Springs/Rifle, Colorado) Mesa County Public Health (Grand Junction, Colorado) Gunnison County Public Health (Gunnison, Colorado) The AmeriCorps VISTA Immunization Outreach and Education Coordinator positions will work closely with community partners to promote access to primary care and improve both routine and COVID-19 vaccination rates through community-based clinics and education and outreach events. With support from staff members at host sites and Immunize Colorado, each VISTA member will be responsible for assessing community needs through relationships with their community and local partners. Members will identify problems, propose solutions, and may implement new interventions, or improve current ones. Evaluation of programmatic outcomes, as well as succession planning, is part of each member's experience. Members will also participate in professional development opportunities of their choice, and also have the opportunity to attend and present at several local conferences throughout their service year.

Member Duties : The Immunization Outreach and Education Coordinator will: Develop relationships and partnerships with key community partners such as healthcare providers, pharmacies, school health personnel, community-based organizations and local public health professionals; Assist in recruitment of medical professionals, volunteers and subject matter experts to support immunization outreach and education events; Create and promote marketing materials to event-specific audiences; Understand and assess community needs and reevaluate or implement interventions ; Attend required trainings and VISTA team meetings;; Conduct follow-up activities for clinic and educational events; Develop a community-specific framework for immunization stakeholder engagement; Support immunization data activities for local public health agencies. Other duties, as assigned. Vast knowledge of vaccination is NOT required.
