American YouthWorks (AYW) YouthBuild program in Austin, TX is an education and green jobs training organization that has served the Central Texas Community since 1981. We offer programs for young people, ages 16 to 28 who want to change their lives through education, workforce training, and service projects. AYW’s program is specifically designed to engage opportunity youth by blending academics (in partnership with Goodwill Excel), hands-on vocational training (Media Corps, Casa Verde Builders, Health Pathways), and community service (AmeriCorps)—and this is combined with guided connections to employment and post-secondary education and post-program support to guarantee success.

Member Duties : We are looking for a VISTA with a strong spirit of service and good communication skills to increase engagement with our community and enhance our recruitment strategy. This VISTA role will evaluate current recruitment practices, develop new partnerships, design communications materials, social media, and coordinate community events. Someone who is outgoing, skilled at design and social media, and is a self-starter is the ideal candidate. YouthBuild Austin has a strong culture focused on connecting young people with opportunities to succeed in the classroom, grow as leaders in their community, and explore their career pathway.
