Renaissance Charter School Communication and Operation VISTA
 
 
 
The Renaissance Charter School (TRCS) is a PK-12 community school located in Jackson Heights, NY. TRCS was founded in 1993 by educators, parents and community leaders concerned about the future of NYC. Its mission statement is Developing Leaders for the Renaissance of New York. Due to our success and the need for more quality education options in our community, in September 2020 we opened a second school in a nearby neighborhood. What we feel makes our school so successful and a great place to work is the collaborative environment. Staff work together with students, families and administration to develop strong and interesting programming. Staff are encouraged to take leadership roles and have access to professional development. The Renaissance Charter School, one of the oldest charters in NYC, seeks a Communications and Operations VISTA for the 2022-2023 school year. VISTA will develop highly marketable skills while supporting two closely connected teams: Operations and Communications. We are looking for those with initiative, a can-do attitude, and a desire to pitch in and learn will thrive here. We are a charter school unlike any other that will afford you many creative opportunities to explore your professional interests, be they in education, publishing, software design, operations, development/fundraising, news media, or IT.

Member Duties : The VISTA at Rennaissance Charter School will be part of the 2022-2023 Up2Us Sports VISTA nationwide cohort of 75 members. As our VISTA you will have opportunities to: Co-design your experience around your interests and preferences. Gain valuable technology skills by helping our operations and communications team manage projects and the flow of information. VISTA will write and publish original news articles on our school website. Create demonstrable audience growth on our social media channels. Learn about project-based, experiential teaching and learning through on-campus extracurricular opportunities such as our rooftop permaculture garden and our annual Rensizzle Program; and improve your professional writing and presentation skills.
