City of Raleigh Parks & Rec Summer Associates
 
 
 
The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources is seeking 2 VISTA Summer Associates to work full time as part of the wider Wake County Food Security VISTA Program housed with the Cooperative Extension, Wake County Center. Members will receive training and mileage reimbursement and will be placed at the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Office. VISTA Summer Associates will assist with facilitation of physical activity and healthy lifestyles activities at close Raleigh Parks summer meal locations. We are seeking motivated, optimistic, and organized individuals who enjoy working with youth.

Member Duties : Wake Food Security VISTA Responsibilities: • Attend pre-summer camp training that will focus on youth development, empowerment, behavior management, adversity, resilience, safety, and topics related to the curriculum being taught • Engage with more than 250 youth per week by delivering evidence-based physical activity education programs at PRCR summer food locations for a total of 250 youth for the entire summer • Assist in evaluating activities, developing solutions and the necessary adjustments to meet community needs.
