Minnesota Alliance With Youth - VISTA Leader

The Minnesota Alliance With Youth VISTA program places members in nonprofits, government, and schools in the Twin Cities to create, connect, and leverage resources to address education inequities such as the opportunity and achievement gaps. We build capacity, coordinate efforts that bridge and build the integration of school and community-wide support for youth, and actively engage youth as agents of change in closing these gaps. Our 20 person cohort meets regularly for professional development, team building, and peer support. This position is placed internally at the Alliance. Alliance VISTAs serve as capacity builders in their communities, creating, strengthening, and connecting resources and best practices to better serve youth, especially young people of color and young people living in poverty, with the ultimate goal of supporting more youth to graduate and closing the opportunity and achievement gaps in Minnesota. The role of the Alliance VISTA leader is to mentor, coordinate, recruit, and support the 19 other Alliance VISTAs across Minnesota as they work towards the ultimate goal of the program through their VISTA positions.
