Land Link Analytics VISTA

In recent years, disasters and extreme weather have seriously disrupted Nebraskans’ ways of life. For vulnerable populations, facing this results in devastating reduced income, limited access to food and services, and heightened stress. The mission of Nebraska Extension is “Helping Nebraskans enhance their lives through research-based education.” We are the public outreach and engagement branch of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), we develop and deliver meaningful educational resources and experiences to people of all ages. Our VISTA program is committed to creating innovative disaster recovery and resiliency programs that protect and support communities from the frontlines and champion sustainability. The Land Link Analytics VISTA will expand the Land Link program’s communications protocols, recruitment model, and data management systems to create a more efficient, accessible way to champion for agricultural equity and offer vital financial protection for first generation farmers. Our VISTA will streamline the application process for land-seeking and land-owning program participants while also improving Land Link’s databases and analytics to track program reach, participant engagement, and the outcomes of land exchanges. We are looking for someone who is passionate about using logistical, analytical skills to affect meaningful change in the lives of Nebraskans. Our ideal member is ready to tackle exciting challenges, able to identify creative ways to solve problems, and can turn ideas into realities. Our VISTA will work in a highly engaging educational environment where they can collaborate with university experts, build their network, and participate in professional development to grow an innovative, relevant skillset. This position is located in Scottsbluff, a city in Western Nebraska with small town charm that is surrounded by the beautiful Northern High Plains and Sandhills landscapes.
