AmeriCorps VISTA Leader FSI
 
 
 
Food Security Initiative (FSI) VISTA Leader provide experience and leadership to teams of Fundación Bucarabón (FB) VISTA members that will collaborate with community partners, farmers, food banks and other community resources to identify funding opportunities, develop marketing materials and conduct outreach activities to promote food resources.. Working closely with FB staff and project supervisors from sponsoring organizations, Team Leaders coordinate the activities of about 10 members per team during service projects. Whether the team is on or off duty, Team Leaders ensure the safety and accountability of their members, while encouraging their members' own leadership development and personal growth as they serve their country.

Member Duties : Make sure that AmeriCorps VISTA members receive the necessary resources, such as professional development, coaching, mentoring, and support (25% of time). Will expand the VISTA project overall by identifying new partners, organizations and communities that would benefit from a VISTA member and will build capacity around poverty eradication programs and services. Will also accompany FB's staff and senior leadership in emerging supra-local networks, sectorial and multi-sectorial networks (25% of time). The VISTA member will also work helping to establish intra-organizational systems which are crucial to participation in such networks, such as keeping data bases, activity planning, and facilities scheduling (25% of time). Finally, the VISTA member will work managing collaborations by drafting relevant documentation to such partnerships and networks, such as memorandums of understanding, budgeting, and keeping track of other legal and formal documentation (25% of time).
