VISTA Food Access Capacity Building
 
 
 
Improve sustainable community access to regionally local fresh and healthy fruits and vegetables through increased food production and distribution in Albany County, Wyoming, with a particular emphasis on people living in poverty, children and elders, disenfranchised people, people in rural locations, and people living with disabilities and chronic illnesses.

Member Duties : Our VISTA member will join us near the beautiful Snowy Range Mountains to review and become familiar with the history of community-led program development, participant involvement, and capacity building at FLV. Based on this report, they will create an improvement plan and work closely with other staff to manage, develop, and implement expanded and new food collection and distribution efforts. Maintain, organize and broaden ongoing Shares logistics and data tracking to fit FLV guidelines and values. Develop tools for outreach to current Feeding Laramie Valley Shares participants, including processing and monitoring participant sign-ups and inquiries, and contribute to creating and delivering educational and outreach programs. Enhance mechanisms for preparation, distribution, and supplying food as needed to participants. Establish and implement sustainable volunteer training, supervision, and recognition.
