Campus Compact - Bates College (22-23)

Campus Compact for New Hampshire's AmeriCorps VISTA project connects change-makers to critical projects supporting low-income students at K-12 schools, colleges, and universities across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Members build capacity within these educational institutions to fight poverty. This program provides members with up-to-date professional development preparing them for careers after service. These skills also give members the tools and knowledge to provide great service to their site. Members will serve in a cohort model that creates an opportunity to learn from peers, share their own experience in the program, and create a community of like-minded individuals. Member Duties : The Harward Center for Community Partnerships at Bates College invites applications for the Civic Leadership Post-Baccalaureate Fellowship. This is a full-time, twelve-month, paid position beginning in early August. The Fellow will develop and strengthen programming that connects Bates students to the off-campus community in informed and constructive ways. With a special focus on cultivating college aspirations, the Fellow will partner with existing Bates offices and academic departments to inspire and equip Bates students for a range of community-engaged activities that respond to community-identified needs. The Fellow will be a live-in member of the professional team in the Office of Residence Life and Health Education. The Fellow's work will contribute to the college's extensive Community-Engaged Learning program by cultivating and sustaining networks of connection and mutual benefit between Bates College and the off-campus community.
