Campus Compact UMASS Boston U-Access
 
 
 
The UMASS Boston AmeriCorps member will be responsible for data collection and assessment, sustaining current and new relationships with campus partners, enhancing current standard procedures for the EHP, increasing the availability and quality of services available, and building the overall capacity of the program. The EHP AmeriCorps member will be entering the program at a unique and exciting time where there will be a plethora of room for growth and new ideas, support from a variety of stakeholders, and a serious need for the responsibilities of the AmeriCorps member. The AmeriCorps member will not only be able to help build the program but also network and connect with individuals across the nation who have a vital stake in alleviating homelessness and housing insecurity among college students. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $1027.88. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide a public transit pass, a parking pass, and professional development and training opportunities. The AmeriCorps member serving at UMASS Boston will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : 1. Develop assessment materials and protocols for the EHP experience and effectiveness, and use the data collected to inform future decision-making. 2. Refine and update standard operating procedures for the EHP based on research and observation. 3. Develop new or enhance current resource database, while also pursuing new and necessary resources per feedback from clients. 4. Create new or add to existing guides based on the new systems and resources developed during this program year. 5. Meet weekly with U-ACCESS staff to provide updates on capacity building and other efforts. 6. Deepen current and forge new relationships to strengthen the EHP’s resource database and referral capabilities. 7. Work with University Advancement, the MA DHE, and other stakeholders to increase the efficient use of current resources and to garner more support for increased human, in-kind, and monetary support.
